raised in Texas to Mexican parents, María del Carmen Romo comes from a large and loving family of eight sisters and two brothers. Life wasn’t always easy, growing up in a home shaped by divorce left a lasting impact but it also instilled in her a deep sense of resilience and faith.
Her journey into the beauty industry began with the arrival of her daughter, who became the inspiration for her to return to school and pursue her dream. María went on to study cosmetology and proudly graduated, dedicating every step of her success to her daughter, who gave her the strength to keep going.
In 1995, María relocated to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she became an active force in her community. She worked as a teacher’s aide, court translator, and organizer of cultural dance events. Her passion for helping others extended far beyond the classroom, she volunteered in hospitals, schools, and churches as a translator for families who didn’t speak English, always giving back with humility and heart.
Despite the challenges of raising a family in a city with no relatives nearby, María held tight to her dream: to see her children thrive, independent and successful. Today, she celebrates that dream as her children flourish, one proudly serving as a soldier, others graduating and building their own paths.
Now, with the launch of Del Carmen Skin, María begins a new chapter, one rooted in love, legacy, and community. Alongside her children, she’s turning a lifelong vision into reality, creating a space where care, culture, and healing come together.

Hi, my name is Esmeralda Carroll and while I was in the Air Force I decided I needed another outside gift. Fast forward to joining the beauty world, I immediately became consumed with learning all about Esthetics and providing people with amazing skincare assistance. I saw it as my fancy superpower.
I graduated out of G Skin & Beauty Institute in Henderson, Nevada with so much growth and love in what I learned.
One thing I’m really good at? Making sure you look your best and feel your best. Men, clear skin is achievable without feeling overwhelmed by how to take care of it.

Building on this foundation, I expanded into education by founding Shared Academy, where I teach students across the country, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate the industry standard. Today, I am focused on launching a new family-oriented venture that emphasizes corrective skincare with high-performance, results-driven, and deeply targeted treatments designed to transform skin and deliver lasting improvements.
